Corporate conscience is about giving back to the communities, maybe even those that are beyond our reach. Once again, Malaysian Red Crescent, Kampar Branch has organized their yearly charity event together with local municipal with the arrangement by Ikta Sdn. Bhd. Hume Cement Sdn. Bhd. was privileged to be invited as one of the main sponsor for this meaningful event.

This event brought joy and cheer to 35 poor families (24 Chinese, 6 Indians and 5 Malays) in the Gopeng district who previously registered their names with Gopeng / Kampar’s Family Welfare Council as families who needed support. In this meaningful event, Hume Cement Sdn. Bhd. sponsored 20 kg of rice to each family, which totaled up to 70 bags of 10kg rice. There were supplementary donations in kind by other parties as well such as groceries products: cooking oil, eggs, condensed milk, sardine, Milo, potatoes, garlic and anchovies.

The food parcel was distributed from door to door to the poor on 16 of January 2016, by officers from Malaysian Red Crescent officers from Kampar branch, representatives from Hume Cement Sdn. Bhd. and Ikta Sdn. Bhd. The event ended well and brought happiness and hope to the poor with the coming of the Year of Monkey 2016.
